EASSS 2011

13th European Agent Systems Summer School

Girona, Catalonia (Spain)
July 11-15 2011

The venue

Girona

EASSS will take place in Girona, in the northeast of Catalonia, located 100 km north of Barcelona, and 60 km south from the French border at Le Perthus. Girona is a very human-sized city (almost 100,000 inhabitants), having the charm of large cities, but without their crowds. Its main attractions are its Old quarter (Barri Vell), with the Cathedral (having the widest Gothic nave in Europe), some sections of the ancient Wall (la Muralla), the old Jewish quarter (El Call), the church of Sant Feliu, or the Arab Baths, among many others.

The city is very conveniently located, just one hour away from Barcelona, and 40 minutes away from Figueres, birthplace of the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, which obviously has the main museum dedicated to the artist (Dalí Theatre and Museum).

Girona is also next to l'Empordà and La Selva counties, which host Costa Brava, a Mediterranean coastline of more than 120 km with excellent beaches along it.

Campus Montilivi

The school will be held at Escola Politècnica Superior (EPS, Polytechnic School) in the Campus Montilivi of the Universitat de Girona, just 10 minutes away from the city centre by bus, or around 20 minutes walking.

To reach EPS, you can either take the bus route 8 or route 11. A single ticket costs 1,30€, while a pass for 10 trips (to perform within 1 month from the first one) costs 10,05€ (including a 2,05€ fee for the bus card, which you can keep and use the next time you come to Girona).
