Social events

Besides the more academic and scientific programme, EASSS 2011 will offer some social events as well, so that we can get to know each other in a more relaxed and informal way. For this, we have prepared several activities on Monday 11th and Wednesday 13th.

Visit to Old Girona and Welcome Reception

In the evening of the first day of EASSS 2011 (Monday 11 July) we will first visit the Old Quarter of Girona. The visit will start at 19h30 at the Punt de Benvinguda - Meeting point (we'll provide maps to get there) and we will walk through the old and narrow streets of the Jewsih Quarter, the Cathedral and the ancient wall. After the visit, we will head towards the gothic cloister of the Facultat de Lletres (Faculty of Arts), where we will have a Welcome Reception with a standing dinner.

In order to arrive to the Punt de Benvinguda - Meeting Point there are different options (all shown in the map above too):

• Walking
• By bus (lines L1 L2 L5 L6 L11)

For those who prefer to go directly to the Welcome Reception, the bus line L7 stops nearby the Facultat de Lletres - Faculty of Arts (see map above).

Visit to the Museu Dalí and Gala Dinner

On the afternoon of Wednesday 13 July, we will visit the Museu Dalí, located in Figueres, home of the famous surrealist artist. We will leave from the campus after lunch, and will stay in Figueres until around 19h.

Then we will go to l'Hostal Empúries in L'Escala to enjoy the EASSS 2011 gala dinner next to the beach.
