How to get to Girona

The access to Girona from the rest of Europe is fairly easy:

By plane

Girona-Costa Brava airport, located 12 km from the city, is one of the hubs of Ryanair (direct flights from Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Milano, Paris Beauvais, among others), and is well connected with the city centre (by bus, taxi or car).

Alternatively, it is also possible to fly to Barcelona airport and then arrive to Girona by train (take the train from Terminal 2 of the airport to Barcelona Sants-Estacio, then follow the instructions on the "By train" section below) or bus (you must get to the "Estacio del Nord" bus station at Barcelona).

By train

The train station is located in the city centre and has good connections with Barcelona (1h 15m), as well as with Europe; there are daily trains to Paris and Montpellier, and three trains a week (Tue, Thu, Sun) to Milano and Zurich.

To reach Girona from Barcelona, you have to take any train departing from Sants-Estacio and going towards Figueres, Portbou or Cerbere.

More train information, schedules and prices can be found at http://www.renfe.es.

By car

Highway AP-7 (E-15), the main route connecting north eastern Spain with south eastern France, has two exits in Girona. The trip from Barcelona to Girona is about 1 hour driving.

By bus

Several international bus lines arrive at Girona's bus station (next to the train station). Check http://www.eurolines.com for routes to Girona.
