Beatriz\u00a0<\/span>L\u00f3pez is a\u00a0professor at the University of Girona<\/a>.<\/span> She graduated in Computer Sciences from \u00a0the Autonomous University of Barcelona<\/span> <\/a>in\u00a01986,\u00a0\u00a0she received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technical University\u00a0of Catalonia<\/a> <\/span>in 1993 \u00a0and she received\u00a0the degree of Information System from the Open University of Catalonia <\/a><\/span>in 2003. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

After receiving the CS degree, Beatriz L\u00f3pez \u00a0joined the Artificial Intelligence Research Group of the Spanish Scientific\u00a0Research Council where she carried out the work \u201cCase-based reasoning of strategic plans\u201d. From that point on, her research interest has always been around case-based reasoning and planning and scheduling, now including optimization and learning in distributed environments. She was associate professor from 1992-1995 and 1998-2000 at the Rovira Virgili University and has served as a Computer Science Engineer in several private companies. Since 2000, she has been a member of the Department of Electronics, Electricity, and Automation Engineering at the University of Girona, where she is currently a full professor. Taught courses include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In February 2011, she co-founded Newronia, S.L.<\/a><\/span>, a spin-off company from the University of Girona. Since 2017, she belongs to the Advisory Board of MJN Neuroserveis, S.L. <\/a> <\/span> Since October 2021, she is a collaborator of the Te Ipu o te Mahara, The Artificial Intelligence Institute<\/a> at the University of Waikato. She is member of the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence<\/a> (member of EurAI.org), Catalan Society of Technology<\/a> (belonging to the IEC), and several\u00a0scientific committees. On 2018, she received the accredited advisory seal on \u201cTechnology, healthcare industries and life sciences” granted by the Generalitat of Catalonia through ACCI\u00d3<\/a>. <\/p>\n
